The nations are also coming to the 2026 World Cup. The most popular sport in the world and the most watched athletic event combine to bring enthusiasm and community around soccer (or football, whichever you call it).
As Christians, we have an extraordinary opportunity to extend God’s love to our neighbors. We recognize that it can be challenging to connect with people from different cultures and backgrounds. That’s why we’ve created these resources, to bridge the gap.
According to "The Immigration Project," 85% of immigrants to the U.S. have never been invited into an American home.
- The U.S. foreign-born population reached a record of 44.8 million people in 2018. Immigrants today account for 13.7% of the U.S. population.
- More than 1 million immigrants arrive in the U.S. each year.
- Immigrants and their descendants are projected to account for 88% of the U.S. population growth through 2065.
- 42% of immigrants in the U.S. speak Spanish at home. The other top five languages are Chinese, Hindi, Filipino/Tagalog, and French.
Atlanta is a host city for the 2026 World Cup and will host eight matches in June and July.
